  1. Have you looked at the entry level Nikon's and Canon's?  Sony is a new entry into the world of still photography, digital or film.  For that reason there are not the same number of lenses (new or used) in support of that camera system.  Nikon has a system that has a legacy of lenses from 1959, Canon from 1988.  Their systems are HUGE and the difference in cost between Sony and the two the pros use (Nikon and Canon) is not significant.

Before you spend you hard earned money (after taxes) on any camera ... take a look at this site and read and learn.

  2. Yes I own the A-100. It is a great value for what you get. Maybe there aren't as many lenses around for it like a Canon or Nikon but you will be able to find what your looking for. Also the body has the image stabilizer not the lens. Every lens you but on will be stabilized. Compare the cost of a Nikon or Canon stabilized lens to a Sony. Then you will get a bettor idea of what your photo rig will cost.

  3. This is what im trying to figure out which one is better.

The sony a200 or the nikon d40. ahh can you help???
