Does anyone have any golf terms or phrases? Not quotes, but game play.?

Things that players say to one another, things that the gallery shouts when players chip, or putt, or tee off. thanks everyone!

first off you can say to a pro golfer "get in the hole when they hit a good chip" or you can say good shot or just things to make them feel better about them selves because in golf you really need some people to chear you up because golf is a game that you can do good at one time but terrible another time. also never compare yourself to tiger woods because he makes pro golfers look like they are terrible but they are good golfers. so never compare yourself to tiger. :)

If your with friends you, we usually tell each other do you want me to hit your ball for you. If The putt falls short you might here "hit it with your purse Alice" I have also heard women use a man's name. But if you are playing with a regular group of guys in a tournament you hold your comments until after a shot or putt is made, and even then it is just limited to "nice shot" or something to that effect. Once you are comfortable with the group you are playing with and you have a feel for their personality then you can converse to the level of the members of your group.

I'm not going to recommend any of the "popular" phrases that get shouted following a pro's shot, mainly because you (and everyone else) will be better off not saying anything and just showing your approval with a polite clap.  Players' chat or responses between each other are typically limited to "nice shot", or if you are cool, just "shot" or "golf shot".  Or, you can offer commiserations such as "bad break" or "bad lie" when appropriate.  But, be sincere- not every shot deserves a "nice shot", learn to recognize a well-executed golf shot that may be a setup for the next shot, and realize that sometimes there are great bogies as well as great birdies.
