  1. Google a hommade hardening clay recipe and the students can put hand prints in them.  I also love the craft of having a vase drawn on a piece of paper.  Have them draw about 5 or 6 straight lines coming out of the vase.  Then cut squares of thin paper or tissue paper.  Have the kids form the paper over the end of a glue stick (or any thick cyllinder) and dip the flat end in glue then stick that along the lines...they look like pretty flowers all in the vase!!

OR...do my favorite thing!!!  Google "mother's Day Pre-School crafts"

  3. draw hand print

  4. you can plant flower seeds in a plastic cup i remember i did that for mothers day in preschool. it was the funnest thing and my mom was so happy it stayed in our window for about a year

  5. supplies: popcicle sticks, glue, glitter, scissors, markers, and colored construction paper. Cut the paper into a flower pot. Cut seperate flowers, and glue a pop sicle stick to the underside. Write a message on the stick such as: clean my room. Take out the trash. Give mom a kiss. Give mom a hug. Help with dinner etc. Whatever the child says to write. Glitter them up, and insert them into the flower pot. Make it a card, or not. Make sure they are removable.

  6. We asked the parents (without telling them why) to bring one of the child's old tennis shoes. We are using them as planters for small plants. We are including a card made from the child's footprint that reads "My footsteps will always lead to you!"

There are also sites that have "handprint poems" you could use on their handprints.

  7. Get mini cupcake papers and glue a fluffy cotton ball  into it.  Then put a little glue on top of the cotton ball and dip into cake sprinkles.  It's cute, it looks like a little cupcake, and it's easy for little ones to do.

  8. Make a salt scrub.  Mix ordinary table salt with oil.  You can use Olive oil, or almond oil.  Mix about half and half.  You can add a drop or two of food color.  You can even add essential oils for fragrance.  Put in a small jar and put on the lid, tie a ribbon on it and viola!

  9. Pop-up Flower Garden Card

Make a beautiful flower pop-up card using construction paper.

Supplies needed: Various colors of construction paper

    Scissors

    Glue

    Markers or crayons

Fold two rectangular pieces of construction paper in half. One piece will be the outside of the card and one piece will be the inside.

On the piece that will be the inside, cut two short lines near the middle of the fold.

Fold the two outside flaps that you just made (but do not fold the middle flap). Unfold the flaps.

    Open the card.

Push the two flaps towards the inside of the card - they will form 2 step-like protuberances.

Refold the card. Cut two short lines through the folded flaps on the sides.

Fold the outside flaps that you just made. Unfold the flaps.

Open the card. Push the two flaps towards the inside of the card - they will form 4 step-like protuberances.

Cut some small flowers, stems and leaves from construction paper. Decorate them with crayons or markers if you like.

Glue the flowers to the flaps. Make sure that the flowers do not stick out of the card when the card is closed.

Glue the card to the other piece of folded construction paper. To make sure that you do not glue the flaps down, apply the glue only to the inside of the card and then carefully place it on the outer card.

Write a message on your lovely flower garden pop-up card.

  10. Make picture frames out of oam with little foam cut-outs and color them.

  11. Our church nursery painted the kids hands and then put their hands on a heart shaped piece of paper with Happy Mother's Day and the year on it. They also wrote the child's name under the hand print. Very helpful for those of us with more thna 1 kiddo.
