Question:

Does anyone have any good fund raising ideas?

I run a small non profit organisation (see www.theluxorproject.org.uk). In order to gain a UK charity number we need to raise £5,000. Many people are not willing to donate to an organisation so finding £5,000 currently seems impossible! After we get a U.K Charity number then we will be governed by the charity commission so more people will be willing to donate. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can raise this money? Only constructive helpful answers please, we are offering children a good cause, without donations we can not survive.

  1. While I wish you good luck, there are far too many children in The UK that need our help for me to consider offering my support.

  2. car wash

ask people to donate stuff and have an auction

  3. jumble sale, i used to go to them when i was a kid, what happened to them?

a little fate or something, some companies will loan things like bouncy castles or do them for a lower price if it is for charity fund raising

  4. children things..activities within the community, family fun day...

  5. I know Cadbury Chocolates does charity chocolates. They will send you boxes of chocolates - I think 20 to box - which you sell and keep half the profit. This may or may not be viable for a large sum but we did raise over $1,000  (nz) this way.

Also try community tv stations, they may do a plug for you (cheaply). Also consider you may have a story of interest for a news broadcast, so contact a major news broadcaster. They can and will let viewers know you are in dire need of funds.

  6. well im going to try giving out hugs for a donation dressed as a gaint teddy bear! sounds stupid bu t i reckon it might wokr cos it will get peoples attention adn is fun!

also everyone needs a hug from time to time!
