Question:

Does anyone have any helpful information on the generic version of Yasmin called "Ocella"?

I just recently had my copper IUD removed, which DOES NOT have any hormones in it, the copper works as a spermicide and I believe it causes the lining to thin... anyway, so I have been reading info on Ocella on forums, etc. and alot of people say that they don't like it. From what I can figure, it seems that it is probably their body trying to adjust. So what I want to know is, has anyone experienced any bad side effects with Ocella, who hasn't switched over from another form of HORMONE contraceptive? I have the pills now, but haven't started taking them yet and am hoping for some helpful input before I start so if I need to, I can have the script changed before begining. Thanks!

  1. In my experience, I've given up hormone contraceptives.

I tried Yasmin (I guess Ocella is the generic you said?).  Although I was on another pill before, I had a break for 3-4 months before trying Yasmin.

It wasn't as bad as some of my reactions to bcp's, but I still got mood swings and sore b*****s.

But it wasn't as bad as the MinEstrin I tried.  I got severe GAD, mood swings, no periods, and hot flashes.

The best bcp I had was Ortho-Cyclen (until I started getting menstrual migraines 3 years after starting it, then my doctor started switching my bcp brands, and that's when the problems started with me and bcp's)

You can see why I'm off of all medical drugs now :)
