That other people may not know about. I was sent this e-mail that I never knew.

I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

  2. i never knew that either...hummm! well here is a few~ use vinegar and baking soda in your sink and tub to unclog the drain! use fabric softener to remove smuges on tile floor, to clean oven dont use oven cleaner preheat oven to 200 turn offthen in a glass casserole dish about 1/2 full pour amonia and place in bottom rack and in another casserole dish 1/2 full use water and place on top rack leave over night and pour out the liquids and with a 3m pad wipe down the inside of the oven it comes soooo clean without all the nasty chemical smells.  hope these help

  3. If you have some old sticky drawers , rub the contact places with a wax candle. They will slid like brand new.

  4. Well, it just shows we should read the instructions ocasionally doesn't it.  Aluminium foil is good for wrapping celery in before putting in the fridge.  It will keep fresh and crisp for ages like this.  Line roasting pans with foil to save having to scour them.  Vacuum you curtains/drapes regularly to save trips to the dry cleaners.  When chaning a duvet cover use clothes pegs to attach top of cover to duvet (use 4 or 5 depending on bed size) and then hold top and shake cover down, reach in and put sides in place.  Tumble line dried laundry for the last 10 minutes in dryer (which is usually cold) to soften.  When washing sheer/net curtains fold carefully, soak in hot bio powder until it goes cold.  Rinse, still keeping folded, put to spin on a low setting and then re-hang immediately.  No ironing.
