Does anyone have any idea how much the DNC cost this year compared to previous years?

Do you mean the actual production costs, or tickets to get in? The tickets were free, unless you scalped them. The cost of production was taken from monies earned from public financing.

I found the amount of "overall cost of the convention is expected to total more than $100 million, possibly $120 million" from this source.  It's like a wiki source though.

I imagine it was much higher than previous years, but it was for a historic day, our first black presidential candidate, and a celebration for all Americans.

I bet it is not as much as the Republican Convention, and that is a waste of money.  Do we really want 4 more years, just like the last 8 years.  I say No.
