I have a skunk that has made his home in my landscaping and when he sees us he darts for the drain pipe that runs from my side yard to the back of our yard. Today it rained heavily and he perched himself right up on my front porch in front of my door??? He has managed to spray at my dog and anything else. Now my kids are afraid to venture outside. Help!! What can we do to get rid of him as pleasantly as possible.

  1. They hate mothballs.  Throw some in the drain pipe & around the porch & wherever he likes to go in the yard.  They also get disturbed by loud noises, so I played loud music & stomped around the house over the place where they had made a nest.  They left!

    Good luck!

  2. Ammonia or Moth balls. We lived on a farm and had a house on pier and beam. A skunk moved in under us. It would wake us up at night it smelled so bad. We called our veterinarian and asked for his suggestions. He said to put moth balls under the house to prevent future critter visits, and putting ammonia in a spray bottle and spritzing it all over under there. The smell bothers the skunk and she leaves is the theory. It worked wonders for us. Maybe you should spray the drain pipe and add some moth balls in the landscaping around your house to help encourage her to visit elsewhere. Good luck!
