Does anyone have any idea how to unlock a Phillips 724 dvd player.?

My grandson (age 3)got hold of the remote, and some how locked it to where I now am looking at needing a password. I have tried the 1111, then 0....but still need to input a password? Any thoughts or idea, as the book for this thing is long gone. and nothing else on the net is providing any info... Its looking like a trip to Best Buy at this point, unless someone has an answer...Not that Best Buy would be such a bad idea......but always dangerous for sure..... :)
