About five days ago I felt really sick, I had a fever of about 102F, has chills, felt dizzy, really sore throat, lack of energy, and full body fatigue. Anyways I came home from work, showered an went right to bed. I stayed there most of the next day and when I got up my fever was gone and I felt great but my throat still ached. Probably two days ago I noticed I've been coughing and I feel pressure in my chest. Well the real concern that I have is that last night I could hardly swallow without wanting to cry and I looked in the mirror to see if my throat was swollen and I noticed in the far back of my throat like behind the tonsils, the farthest part back, there are a bunch of blister looking things where all the pain is. They look kinda white but a deep red, if that makes sense?? Any ideas cause Im starting to worry

  1. strep throat?

ask a doctor because if so, its contagious

  2. ok well first of go to the doctor and get this checked out as fast as possible, and I'm guessing that you have the same thing as julia robert's had if you know what i'm talking about. i hope you do and good luck!

  3. Go see a Dr. You could have Strep, Tonsillitis, an STD or any number of things you don't want to think too much about.

  4. You have strep throat. Go the the clinic and get an antibiotic or it won't go away. Be sure to keep taking the antibiotic meds until they are used up or the strep will come back.

This is serious, so go to the doc right away.

  5. The doctor will test for strep. And an STD is not in the back of your throat, its on your lips. Eesh.

  6. Strep, go to the doctor, they will take a culture from your throat and test you for it, or just give you the anti-biotics right away if they think it is bad enough.

  7. Go to your doctor

  8. You have strep throat. Go see your doctor. You need an anti-biotic. Don't let it go because it can cause more serious problems.

  9. I totally know what this is, I had it 8 years back and NEVER EVER want it again, nor would I wish it on my worst enemy. So I feel for you. The good news is I know what it is and it can be cured.

I had it 8 years back and I made the mistake of listening to the dumb Doc at the free clinic about what to do. It started out just like you, I felt totally sick then a fever came on and all the classic flu symptoms hit too and was really lethargic and tired. I took some tylenol and reduced my fever but not the soreness of my throat. I ended up the next day finding these white blister type reddish bumps on the back of my throat and the pain was unbearable. I tried to ride it out for several days

and it got worse, the blister bumps spread to my tongue and I swear I couldn't eat anything or even drink it was sooo tender, not ice cream or yogurt (felt like fire on my tongue and throat) even plain cold water felt like boiling lava going in and down.

I finally broke down and went to the local free clinic and waited 3 hours to be seen with a raging fever and sick as a dog in major pain. The Doc took one look and said Oh, "THRUSH", it's usually a childs diease like chicken pocks but once in a while an adult can get it. Just go home and ride it out, it should be over with in another few days. So I went home and no relief or change or let up in symptoms or pain for the next week and a half and I lost 30lbs from not being able to get nothing but a little ice cream and water in me and my throat felt like I was dropping red hot iron nuggets down it when I tried to swallow tylenol. So I finally called the doctor back and said listen this is NOT going away and I'm loosing all this weight and am sick with intense pain. Is there anything at all you can do or I can take to help this go away??? He said sure there is but are you sure you don't want to just wait a little longer and try to ride it out naturally, It took all I had not to cuse him out right there but I just said YES, I'M SURE. So he perscribed me Acycloveer (not sure if spelled correctly, but sounds just like it's spelled) and said it's used for Thrush. I filled it right away and started taking the meds exactly as perscribed and within 2 days I finally had relief, my fever broke and the blisters weren't so tender to the touch, by the 4th day I was drinking juice and eating hot soup and crackers and by weeks end I was fully cured.

So save yourself all of the weeks of pain and misery I went through and go to the doc and have him perscribe you acycloveer for thrush and it will all go away SOON. But whatever you do, DON'T let him or her talk you into going home and ride it out and it will go away on it's own, becuase that is BS. My huge regret was I didn't get that script ASAP. It would have saved me many sleepless nights of pain, tears and starvation.

So go get this right away and heal yourself so you can get your life back. Good Luck and Best Wishes

    James

  10. sounds like strep throat.  go see a doctor to get a throat culture.  an antibiotic will clear it up in jiffy if it is truly strep throat.

some people woud think it is JUST strep throat but my father just went to a funeral 2 weeks ago for a childhood friend who died of untreated strep throat at age 48 (the strep had gone into his bloodstream and attacked his heart).  if u seek treatment now, you have nothing to worry about.  you should be just fine.

  11. Strep Throat, grab some tylenol and antibiotics
