I have a virus on my computer (I'm using my sister laptop right now) that does not let me open any documents like "My Documents, My Pictures, My Computer, Recycle Bin, and Internet Explorer" but it lets me open other programs like Paint and iTunes to be honest I'm not even sure its a virus but if it is, does anyone have any idea what it may be called.

  1. Sounds like the virus is in the Internet Explorer files.

Download the free version of Superantispyware.  I use this program and will resolve your problem as this software finds nasty viruses and spyware and best of all does not conflict with your own antivirus.  http://www.superantispyware.com  Update and run and in depth scan.  Free you must update daily on a manual basis or purchase and get auto. updates.

  2. Your only option is to install CLAMWIN.

ClamWin is a Free Antivirus for Microsoft Windows

that uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software

Foundation and is free (as in freedom) software.

There is a portable version of ClamWin where it can be install into an USB pendrive as small as 64 MB.

First use another PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus

and install Clamwin portable on a USB thumb drive.

When the USB pendrive is ready.

Boot up the infected PC in safe mode.

If possible, disable system restore on the infected PC.

Run the Clamwin Anti-virus that is installed on the USB drive to scan the infected PC.

  3. A Trojan is not a virus, it's malware, And a Trojan horse appears to perform a desirable function but in fact performs undisclosed malicious functions.

And, The problem I see is that some malicious program deleted to .dll files needed to open those files.

  4. To me is sounds like you have the generally virus call Trojan it is very common and generally effects these types of documents, you will want to take care of it soon becuase it can crash your system completly
