  1. America is really screwed up right now if you've watcged the news. If they really wanna come here I suggest going to New York. They could wash cars, sell fruit, walk pets, start a small cleaning service, babysit.

  2. Chores are an important character building part of eveyones life who plan to be successful later in life,.  It teaches patience, perseverance, toleration, negotiation skills, and the responsibility to be able to see a challenge to the end. it may even teach good monetary planning skills. these are skills that are needed all through life and gives someone the tools they need to achieve their goals.

Here are some ways that they can make money for the summer-- whether they do it for you or a neighbor.

    Clean     dust     vacuum

switch laundry or take it from dryer and lay it flat

    work in the garden

    mowing (age appropriate)

    raking

    wash car   vacuum car

    walk the dog

    brush and bathe the dog

clean a closet,   drawer   or garage

    babysitting

set the table    clear the table   load/unload the dishwasher

painting (with supervision )  or a fence outside

    paper route

Good luck and have fun!!      k

  3. They could wash cars, walk dogs, rake leaves, mow lawns, baby sit (if they still do that down in 'America') pick up trash, sell lemonade (lol).  Anything that is under the table and small chore-like jobs.

  4. They can walk dogs, wash cars, rake leaves, your 13 year old can mow lawns, etc.

When I was 13, my uncle and I began to build marshmallow shooters (we called them mallow blasters instead of guns so parents wouldn't be as reluctant to buy them). They are made of PVC pipe and we paint them in several colors. They're safe and fun. They cost about $2 to make and we sell them for $5 and they come with a bag of marshmallows.

  5. Well this previous summer i was twelve and babysat and made 600 dollars. Yah yah it could be hard to find someone to babysit, my solution is easy, make small buisiness cards then hand them out to adults and ask them to give them to people that they know with kids; if you're lucky, you will find about three kids to babysit at various times of teh week!

  6. Paper route

    yard work

    pet care (walking dogs)

    car washes

    helping an elderly neighbor

    babysitting

    tutoring

camp counselors (well, your 13 year old)

Make flyers advertising your children's desire to work and mail it to your friends and neighbors.  Have the kids design the flyers, list what kinds of jobs they can do, and include the fact that they are saving for a trip to great america.

Make subscriptions to guarantee repeat business.  Subscription package: dogs walked - 1 walk for a dollar; every weak day at 10 AM and 3 PM for 7 dollars a week.

Teach them a useful skill.  Offer a cookie of the week subscription.  For $10 a week your subscriber gets 2 dozen fresh baked cookies delivered every Sunday afternoon.  A lovely Sunday treat, and it gives you saturday to make the dough with the kids.  Sunday morning in the oven, and you're good to go.  Kids learn to bake, you get the left overs.

Maybe cookie delivery - offer to cheer up a friend: assorted cookies delivered to a friend - $12 for dozen, $20 for 2 dozen (these cost more, they're made to order).

Make birthday cakes.  Bread.  Pastries.  (Although... it might be best to keep it  to one product for simplicity)

It's important, though, to know what you're offering and to have a pricing scheme laid out in advance.

    Good luck!

  7. well, i know this sounds cheesy or something, but babysitting. make fliers and such.

when i was 13, i made fliers, and landed a great job... i still work for the people actually. $100 a week, plus they bought me a cell phone to keep in touch with, and they pay the bills.

so you'd be surprised what you can make with somethin easy like babysitting...
