We are having my daughter and nephews birthdays together. They were born exactaly 1 yr and 2 days apart, we already decided on a Dora and Diego theme and we are gonna have a bounce house but there will be some older kids there as well(6-9) and Im afraid they will play too rough with the lil ones, so does anyone have any ideas on another activity I can have to keep the older kids busy while the little ones jump and vice versa so noone gets hurt and everyone still has fun

  1. u should get one of those slides the water slides they are really cheap.u should check walmart or target. that could be for the older kids and the little ones can go on the jumper and then they can have fun.

  2. duck, duck, goose. fun games 4 kids...

  3. the older ones are old enough to know they are out of place but something cute like a pinatta for the two year old party would be fun for the older kids too cause the little ones arnt going to care who made the candy fall out just that the candy is there. i did popcorn and movies for my two yr old she loved it and it wasnt so baby that the older ones felt uncomfortable but i dont know about that with the one yr olds other than that im at a loss dont know if that helped

ps they make the pinattas where you can pull the string and hit them to make them open now

  4. jungle theme.

  5. Face painting. Haven't seen a kid yet that doesn't like it.

  6. do a scavenger hunt and look for Dora things and leave animal footprints

  7. Have a game system aroud for the boys and some kind of glittey project to work on for the girls.  If all else fails set up a movie viewing area in a bed room.

Next year "pump it up" bounce house party place.  It's big enough for everyone and you don't have to clean up.

  8. maby a moon bounce or a dog or a cat theme.

  9. well you can due like a circus so you have games for all ages and it is fun for both kids and all ages as like basketball toss and things like that for the older ones and duck pick and things like that for the small ones

  10. video games will keep the older kids busy while the little ones preactice jumping. If you don't have video games, checkout some internet sites that may have a freindly gave.

You can also get a set of Thomas the train tracks and have the little ones build some tracks while the older kids jump.

These guys have some interesting tracks that will keep the little onces busy.

  11. While the little ones jump, you could have a treasure hunt  with the older kids.  You could do it 2 different ways:

    1. Make up on sentence clues that hold instructions for the next clue, cut the paper in strips, and hide them.  This can be done either inside or outside. At the end, make sure they have a neat toy treasure.

    2. Create a list of items that they must find either in the house or outside.  Get some bags and let them hunt.  The top hunter should get a neat toy.

You can buy toys in bulk that are fun for parties from Oriental trading.

Also check nickjr.com for party themes under Dora and Diego.  They have some neat printable ideas that you can do as well as craft activities while each group takes turns jumping.
