Does anyone have any ideas for babysitting?

i'm babysitting a 9 year old girl all week starting tomorrow from 8:30 to 5:00. i've babysat her before, and it seems like we've done everything. she gets bored really easily and always wants to switch to something else. she's hard to entertain. does anyone have any ideas of what we could to that's fun for both me and her? something not too messy either. something like watching a movie probably wouldn't help because she can't sit still very long. we like cooking together but we've already made cookies, a cake, and pancakes and she doesn't like doing things twice. does anyone have any good recipes that are easy, fun, and not very messy? thanks, that'd be a lot of help!!!!!!

  1. make smores.

buy chalk make her draw on a side walk.

look up stuff in parenting magazines.lol.

  2. just make up fun games. go outside and take a walk.

  3. Take her to the park to run off all of her excessive energy, then take her to the library and get her some books to expand her mind.

Get her off of the idea that life is always supposed to be fun, to cater to her demands, and not be "boring" which is usually a code word for: I'm too lazy to mentally and emotionally engage in this activity.

Give her crayons, markers, paints and paper and tell her to create a world. Give her a pen and paper and tell her to write a story. Send her out into the backyard and tell her to find five unique kinds of plants, pick a leave/flower and bring it to you. (Be careful that there's no poison ivy/sumac out there.) With her parents permission, help her rearrange her room, rearrange her closet with her new school clothes, clean up her toys and take old ones to be donated to charity.

Don't park her in front of a movie or TV. That's not going to challenge her in the least.

  4. I babysit a lot!!! I sometimes do it every day. Something fun would be to drive 2 a playground. its fun, good exerciser and u can sit back and read a magazine while she plays. To make it more fun you could bring a radio for you and her so she can have a little more fun.

I know what it is like to have a kid not want to do something again, so for cooking ideas make something a bit challenging if she cant sit still. I would make something like dinner, that has many different meals. You could ask the parents what they wouldn't mind eating. If you are not afraid of cooking you could make something like nachos, salad with chicken, Hamburgers. Use your imagination with her. And have fun!

So have fun tomorrow and enjoy the time with her.
