I love paper crafts; making cards, scrapbooking, making matchbooks (small photo albums), and making cloth covered books (journals).

Make a list of things you've wanted to try, and try each one.

I recommend going to Family Fun.com. They have tons of crafts, card ideas and recipes. I go here almost every time I need to make a dessert, card or gift. That way I can keep busy making something, then when I'm done I give it away as a gift.

I would definitely recommend beading, you can make charms and jewelry which you won't chuck away after the summer, wear it or hang it on bags or mobile phones after the summer.

learn how to knit.  even with knowing only the basics you can make belts, purses, and all kinds of other cool accessories

check out this site.. www.knittinghelp.com  its got little videos of the different stiches that you can watch over and over till you get things right
