Question:

Does anyone have any ideas for reusing leggings?

I have a pair of old leggings with holes in the crotch. I wore them underneath other pants at work at a skating center so it was no big deal, but the holes are getting too big even for that. I'm trying to live as "green" as possible, so if anyone has any ideas for reusing them, I'd love to hear them (do they make good rags, etc).

  1. I make stuffed animals out of things like that. Sew up the ends, put some buttons on for the eyes, stuff it, and give it to the cat(filled with catnip) or dog, or a kid you know. I like to make little monsters out of old clothes. Type in handmade monsters, there are a lot of neat ideas on Flickr.com.

  2. cut them to make a head band.... or as a duster...

  3. I work for the Red Cross UK.  We get £2 per bag of "rags" we give to a company called Nathan's Wastesavers.  This way, even holey socks, stained shirts, etc raise us money to spend on crises.  The rags get sold on to garages who use them to clean cars, and as general scrap material.  My family tend to use old vest and similar items as cleaning cloths (after having been washed of course)

  4. Cut two eye-holes in them and sell them to burglars as masks
