Does anyone have any ideas to make a dorm room look interesting?

Me and my roommate took magazine ads out of the magazines and covered an entire wall with them, it looked sweeeet.  And I don't mean like perfume ads or anything, I mean ads for stores that you like and if you buy a music magazine like AP they have ads for new cds and bands and that looks awesome on walls.

Of course, there's also the common idea of putting up photos of your friends and family.  You can tape them to your wall or buy some cool, cheap frames from the dollar store and put them in there around the room.  

At the store on campus that sells clothing and souvenirs we bought these cool wall stickers, that easily peel off and can stick to other surfaces again later.  You could probably buy these at any store that sells items for decorating.  You can buy them just in cool shapes and colours and make patterns with them, and the best part is you can rearrange them whenever you want and don't have to worry about peeling off paint or anything.

You can also buy some glow-in-the-dark paint or stickers and put that up in your room.  The rez staff will never notice it because they don't come in your room at night, and even if they notice it long after you're out of there they don't know who did it.  

You can also hang some cds or dvds (ones from your collection or blank ones) from the ceiling with fishing line, it adds a very cool effect.

Of course, band and movie posters that you buy easily liven it up.  Investing in a sweet comforter for your bed helps brighten the room as well.

A cheap plant from the grocery store or florist can be great too, especially if you name it :)
