Does anyone have any info on Tanagra Air Base in Greece? What is it like as an overseas assignment?

I'm looking for info about what there is to do there, how it compares to other bases, what it looks like, weather, school info, jobs etc. Of course nothing OPSEC or risky info. Just wondering if others had been there and would share their experiences.

My cousin lived there with her husband when he was stationed there.  She did not give me many details, but she loved it there.

If you are Army personnel you should know that disclosing information on military grounds is not allowed. Actually is forbidden.

However, Tanagra is the main Greek Air Forces grounds close to Athens.

That fact alone makes it desirable by the personnel.

Although I'm not military oriented I think most of the officers live in Athens where they are shuttled to work or drive there.

The facilities will not be up to US standars for living on base.
