  1. Trust me on this one. Go sell Hondas, Toyotas or Nissans. I know from experience.

  2. You need the same things you need to start any business in sales:

    1.  Cash to buy inventory, rent floor space, employ staff, and advertise your products.

    2.  A good understanding of how to capitalize an inventory and keep it turning over.

    3.  A clear channel to the market.

Even if you have or can come up with number 1 (cash), this is a bad time for numbers 2 and 3.  The economy is poor, fuel costs are cutting into all aspects of the aviation industry, and the future is very uncertain.  That doesn't absolutely ruin your plans, but it means that you need the best advice you can get and you need to approach the whole idea with great caution.

The ideal starting point is with the Small Business Development Center at your local community college or university, or with a visit to the Small Business Administration.  Look at http://www.sba.gov.

    Good luck!
