Does anyone have any information on the Nightingale Family of Dubuque, IA - 1800s?

Question

All I have so far, is that George & Martha Nightingale lived in Dubuque, IA in the 1840s. George was the Magistrate of the town and they owned a pretty fair amount of property. They had 3 children (at least) and George and/or his sons were most likely involved in the military.

I located an 1856 Iowa State census, with George L Nightengale and his family.  His wife's initial LOOKS more like a  N.. there are 4 children -Henry 12 male; J age 10 male; M age 4 female; J B age 1, female.  The children all were born in Iowa.  George was born in  England, age 41, AND has lived "in this place" 21 yrs.  Wife is from NY, and lived there 14 yrs. That could mean Iowa, or could mean Dubuque, it is not clear.

Yes, George's occupation is a lawyer.  It seems that they are living in perhaps a boarding house, with many other persons.

In 1860, Martha is now a widow.. the children's names are Henry;  James, Mary, Julia.  Charles is age 3.  So George has died before 1860 (but was around long enough to father Charles.).  

It does show Martha owns 10,000 worth of land and 600 personal possessions.  That is VERY good for that time frame.. and supports your family info. The specifics are not likely to be online.. but I wager there is a pretty decent probate file at the country courthouse.
