I have heard a disturbing rumour today that a child was abducted at the Ricoh Arena supermarket (Tesco), by two Albanians (possibly Kosovans). The mother was shopping and turned to take something from a shelf. When she turned back the child was gone from the trolley, and the mother began screaming. The two-year-old was found in the lavatories with the two foreign nationals, har had been cut and clothes changed. The police locked down Tesco's and a complete press blackout was ordered and I cannot find out if it is true. Does anyone have any more details?

  1. Yes....the mother was reaching for a tin of processed peas..

  2. Lord! I live quite close to the Ricoh.  I heard about this last Sunday from a friend who works as a CPN.  Certainly nothing about it in the "Coventry Evening Telegraph" but all sorts of weird things go on a that location that we don't hear about.  Thanks for putting it out in public.

  3. omg I live near there!! and I have a baby daughter. Even if not true, thaks for warning, Ill be extra vigilant x

  4. Hi, I also heard this and found it really concerning as I'm quite close.

I heard it was the M & S in the Ricoh Centre, which is next to Tesco.  Apparently, the mother turned back and the little girl had gone.  She looked around, then ran to the security guard on the door.  They instigated their new policy - total lock down of the store - doors and shutters were locked preventing anybody from leaving the store.

They apparently searched the store for almost 2 hours and the child was found on the top floor, in the staff toilets with a male and female couple.

They had changed her clothing *and* cut her hair.

I only know this because my friend next door was there and couldn't enter the shop - she asked what was going on and was told the above, there and then by someone.

This was on the Saturday afternoon before Mother's Day, so it would have been 1st March?...

Edited to add - don't know about the Kosovans or the press blackout - I've certainly not seen or heard anything either in the local or national news.

Edited again to add.... tonight, I mentioned this to my sister in law who lives in Cov, and she'd heard the same thing and also said it was M & S.  Apparently a lot of people are talking about it, but nothing is being reported...

  5. Not sure if this is some kind of urban legend as we heard similar reports when the Trafford Centre opened a few years ago - child taken whilst parent queuing to pay for goods in food court, later found in disabled toilet with 2-European women, hair cut clothes changed etc.

Lets hope that's all it is - this countries bad enough without having to constantly look over your shoulder whilst doing your grocery shopping!!!
