    Chile is 2640 miles long and only an average of 110 miles wide. Also, about half of the total population of Chile live in Santiago, the country's capital.

    Chile is home to the Atacama Desert, the driest place on earth bar none.

    Over 1/3 of the world's copper is produced in Chile. It's also home to the Escondida Copper Mine in Northern Chile, the world's largest producing mine with 350 millions /ton per year

    Easter Island of course! Rapa Nui (or Easter Island) is part of the Chilean territory even though it is located in Polynesia, 3,600 km from Chile

    Tierro del Fuego at the Southern end of Chile is the closest place to Antarctica.

    The highest lake in the world, at 4600 meters above sea level is Lake Chungara , 196 km north of Arica with thousands of flamingoes.

    Chilean wines have won numerous awards and are now ranked #3 in the world

    The Juan Fernandez Island inspired the famous novel Robinson Crusoe (a sailor by name of Alexander Selkirk from Scotland was marooned on this island for 5 years, his rescue inspired the novel)

    The Cave of the Milodon, in Parque Torres del Paine, the southern and beautiful mountain wall between Chile and Argentina, shelters a figure of the mythical animal encased in fiberglass, and it’s existence thought to be more than 12 thousand years ago.
