Does anyone have any knowledge of the philosopher George Hampton?

What were the titles of some of his books and a little info about him please. I am at a lost trying to locate one of his books.

Well, he does seem fairly obscure.  There is a Wikipedia article about a guy named George Essex Hampton.  I'm not sure if this is the guy you're looking for, but here you go anyway.

The only George Hampton I can come up with that fancied himself as a philosopher was first and foremost an artist. I'm talking the type that puts paint on canvas. I remember he wrote a book called "The Wake" which has been referred to as a novel of ideas  or a philosophical novel. This is not uncharted waters of course with Voltaire and Sartre coming to mind at the moment. Flesh and blood characters  are interwoven by means of screed into a fabric of a narrative. Hampton's novel throbs with life and explicit sexuality. So did his art!! "The Wake" in some ways seems to be what one one might expect from a collaboration between Plato and Stendhal in some places.
