Wondering if it come s with everything needed to be a complete home theater and/or personal computer. Warranty information would be great, flaws/complications, and any other info!

  1. It is in effect a PC in steroids. It has Digital tuner (ANT), and you can use the Windows Media center as PVR.

It has no audio amplifier though.

hp.com should have more info on it.

  2. I've used the 558 and the 565 DECs in systems. They are well thought out for home theater which goes a long way towards eliminating complications.

It can work as a stand alone with amplified speakers but I always use it with a good surround processor, like the RX-V3800 Yamaha for example. That allows greater speaker flexibility.

Only trouble so far is one dead power supply and one crashed hard drive out of several units in the field.
