It looks like you have a very timely question, as there is currently an exhibit called "Glasgow 1955:  Through the Lens."  Start Date : Friday 21 March 2008

End Date : Monday 29 September 2008

In 1955 Glasgow camera clubs got together to create a unique photography survey of the city.

They photographed everyday scenes of people and places and in the process created a wonderful record of daily life. A selection of these popular photographs is back on display at the People's Palace.

For some it's a trip down memory lane and for others a chance to see the city as it looked over half a century ago.

Book

A book with 90 photographs from the survey is for sale from the museum shop and all bookshops.

In 1911 the early history of Mossbank Industrial School, Millerston, was described in the columns of the Kirkintilloch Herald in the following terms:

MOSSBANK INDUSTRIAL SCHOOLS.- Mr. James M'Farlane, who has been a member for twenty years of the committee in charge of the Mossbank Industrial Schools under the Glasgow Juvenile Delinquency Board.

Found a photo of the Quarter mile bridge leading to Mossbank.

There's a book called "Old Riddrie, Millerston and Stepps" written by John Hood and published by Stenlake Publishing, price £7.99 which has lots of photos of the area, and would seem to include a photo of Mossbank Industrial School.
