  1. I have grown potatoes in buckets (one plant per bucket gave about 1 kilo potatoes). I've also grown runner beans in a container not much bigger than a bucket. I put 6 plants in and stakes to form a wigwam, secured at the top. The crop was not fantastic but still a nice achievement. Tomatoes and cucumbers can be grown in a growbag outdoors if your climate is reasonably warm. Take advice on which variety would work for you.

  2. it's too late in the season for most things now, depending on where you live, of course, but peppers, tomatos, eggplant, herbs, cucumbers, and strawberries all do well. You can get long, narrow containers and grow lettuce, spinach and carrots if they're deep enough and you get a shorter variety. It's really cool  to be able to feed you family, even a little bit, out of your own backyard, or patio. Good luck.

  3. Cherry tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, baby carrots, radishes or spring onions, grow well in containers.

Plant quick-growing small herbs, leaf lettuces & spinach around you larger fruiting vegetables.

Here's some varieties that grow well in containers:
