Question:

Does anyone have any practical suggestions for speaking up in class?

I'm in the honors program at a University, and I really want to keep my scholarship but I'm graded partly on classroom participation. I've been homeschooled throughout high school, and I have a hard time participating in the class discussions. It's probably something where I just need to do it, or something that comes with practice, but does anyone have practical suggestions for how I can speak up more?

  1. just keep eye contact with the teacher, speak up loud enough so everyone can hear you but pretend it's just you talking to the teacher.

    it helps me lol

  2. 1) Take classes that you are genuinely interested in. Nobody wants to participate in a boring lecture that drones on.

    2) Picture the class naked

    3) Drink some coffee or something with caffeine to get your brain really going

    4) Take classes with you're friends and sit next to them and comment on the stuff that they say.

    5) Take an article or something in to share with the class that relates to the material being covered and open up your own discussion about stuff that you find interesting.
