  1. Gday matey, I just reloaded a bunch of grenades (36Gr) for my .223 (same .224 cal) on the weekend.

ADI publish an excellent handloaders guide for all their powders and you will find it online or you can pay a measly $4.00 for it at your local gun shop.

    I have attached the link.

That said I have loaded 5 rounds of each powder weight from the minimum to 2Gr over the Max. I have only done this because their data runs from 40Gr and up, that and I have it on good authority from a fellow reloader that i can run 27Gr safely. A general rule of thumb is the lighter the projectile the more powder you can run. I will be certainly be keeping an eye on the over pressure signs on the hotter loads.

Please don't use the above powder weights on your loads as they are for .223 not .222 which is a smaller capacity case and will certainly blow up.

Use the online guide, print out the cal you are loading for and start out small. .5Gr increases are fine.

    Happy loading, Witty

  2. To be honest, Reloadersnest.com and and powder manufacture normally has data that you need.

    http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

    http://www.reloadersnest.com/frontpage.a...

    Other info...Lighter bullet, more powder.

So 40gr uses less powder then your 35gr.

Always back off 10% and watch for signs of pressure
