  1. u have to learn how to skate very well and very to be checked by the glass or just on ice.

  2. Make sure your skates fit.

Don't dive, people don't like divers.

    Keep your head up.

    Don't take unnecessary penalties.

Don't cry to the refs if something doesn't go your way. Just accept it.

    Have fun.

  3. Keep your head up

and keep you stick and your bud light on ice.

  4. Skating is fundamental, and something you will need to work at every day.  Even the pros work on their skating.  You must be able to skate to the point where you're not thinking about skating.  Stops, starts, turns, crossovers, everything.

Keep your head up at all times.  Talk to your teammates on the ice; the pros are constantly talking.

Dryland training helps; running, biking, inline skating, core training are all good ways to improve your conditioning.  The pros skate 30-60 second shifts, and they usually come off winded, and they're all in great shape.

Good luck and have fun; it's a great game!

  5. 1. If you aren't already an experience skater, get on the ice as much as you can.  Work on transitions and stops and starts.  If you can look for a summer camp or "learn to play" clinic near you this summer and go.  You will be amazed by how much a few weeks of on ice instruction will help your overall ability.

    2.  If you don't have an intimate knowledge of the game go watch your rinks summer leagues with someone who can explain the game to you. Or watch some clips and recent games online (hulu.com). Don't be afraid to ask questions.

    3.  Conditioning, get outside and enjoy the summer weather.  Running and biking are both great ways to get your endurance up.  The better shape your in the easier time you'll have once the season starts.

    4.  Stick handle EVERY DAY you can.  All you need is your stick and a golf-ball, you can do this outside or inside on a smooth surface.

    5.  Don't get discouraged...if some things don't fall into play or come easily to you keep working, you'll get there eventually.

    Don't forget to HAVE FUN!

    Good Luck.

  6. 1. Always keep your head up and watch what is going on around you.

    2.  Do not play the puck where it's at, play the puck where it's going to be.

  7. Don't skate with your head down. I did that ONCE and ran into somebody and snapped my clavicle bone in half...

  8. Learn the FUNDAMENTALS!!!  Work on and try to perfect your skating.  Anything you do in hockey requires balance, so try to work on it anytime you can.  People often think that they do not have to work on it, but almost everyone can benefit from improving it.  Take power-skating if it is available to you.  Do not play ice hockey in the summer, your body will need the break.  Find other sports like lacrosse or baseball to play in the summer.

  9. #1 tip: when you start hockey, never give up

  10. keep your head up

  11. Serious advice: Learn to skate (or get better at it) in all directions with ease and practise doing so with your head up and in your gear. It's one thing to skate at a public session or even when practising on your own but another thing to do so when in a game situation

Comical advice: Don't be a puckbunny. Chase after the puck with the speed of a bunny.
