Question:

Does anyone have any tips for removing a stubborn hose nozzle?

I have a hose nozzle that appears to have some white corrosion inside the threads where it attaches to the hose. I've tried wrenches and everything else - and I cannot remove the nozzle from the hose. I tried dripping some pool acid inside the threads to eat the corrosion and still no dice.

Does anyone have any tips or do I have to buy a new hose?

  1. It seems your nozzle is made of composite metal that can get corrosion quite easily. Spray some WD-40 into the threads, wait a few minutes and try the wrenches again. The hose should be fine after you unscrew the nozzle, but you may have to buy a new nozzle. I buy the brass one to avoid the corrosion problem.

In the worst case you can cut it off, and fit it with a hose repair connector.

  2. those nose hozzles are a bit.h but get 2 pairs of slip joint or channel lock pliers and turn it off a little WD-40 will help....................tom

  3. Sounds like you may have exhausted all your options.  In the future, rub some vaseline on the threads BEFORE attaching a nozzel.  Good Luck to you.

  4. Take a hacksaw and saw the hose at the end about an inch from the nozzle.Buy a male hose repair barb fitting at Lowes or Home Depot, put it in the end that you cut and attach the hose clamp that comes with it and it will last for years. It is so simple. The part only costs about 4.00$ Good luck but you wont need it because it is easy.Saves from buying a new hose everytime something goes wrong.

  5. R,W Jones here no do not for the problem is in the down spout handle and washer or washers, try changing it air in the pipes

  6. I would try so Lime A-Way, soak it for awhile. If that doesn't work, get you two sets of channel locks and use your muscles. I can't see it being that hard. It's much easier when you use two, one for your back up and turn with the other. Good luck.

  7. have you tried soaking it in "CLR"?

    That stuff works great!
