I've been waterskiing for 2 years, and I've become pretty good with two skis, but everytime i try to slalom, i can't accomplish anything! I can drop a ski, and go in and out of the wake, and i can also start with one ski and go in and out of the wake, but i can't maintain balance! I have great balance, but i swerve out of control when i make sharp turns. I want to know if I'm doing something wrong..? help!!

  1. don't even think going into the slalom course yet. sounds like you need to balance your weight better. if you feel all swervey in the turns you probably have too much weight on the rear foot. also, try to keep the ski on one edge ot the other. a flat ski will get squirrely on you and bounce you over the wakes, which gets you off balance. your grip should be one hand over, one under(one palm up, the other down) left foot forward generally means right palm up. a wakeboard grip will be counter-productive to water skiing. don't try to turn too sharp. ease your way into getting the feel of the ski carving. pull accross the wake (remember, on edge). over the 2nd wake think "back arm pressure" at that point shift weight slightly forward to slow the ski down, then point both toes to the direction you want to turn. don't forget to smile!

  2. no clue

  3. well so far i think you r doing great

make sure u r using the rite ski there is no point in using a mapple when u are just starting out aim for a wide tip ski which helps slow down when you turn around the buoy

also on buoy no1 like since you are just starting don't bother with the gates go out really wide and cut in  so your leg hits the buoy then you should get early 2 which helps you get to 3 4 5 6. you ain't doing anything wrong you are just learning + is the boat going slow enough and is your rope long

    good luck and happy skiing
