I feel you... It feels like getting stuck in the middle doesnt it? So obviously you want to get to the next level and you have to do that by upping your game in accuracy, power, and consistency. Your shots have to go over the net and they have to go at a pace at which the other player cannot powerhit it back to you.

yes, if you are a beginner, then you should most likely hit on a backboard first. Once doing that, take a private lesson with a pro. This should get you going.

take lessons from a coach to work on your technique. but u also hav to work on strategy and footwork. just find someone to just practice with.

Hmm. Well skipping is always good for your footwork. But not normal skipping. Like on one foot. or doubles. or triples.

Consistency is a must. You dont necessarily need to hit against someone good. but try to vary who you hit against to get experience with various games. Try drills with only forhands or only backhands or whatever.

Discipline. If you want to play, play! Ensure you play how you would in training. If you're trying to not make mistakes. You're not training. How do you expect to get better without making mistakes? It's all part of the earing process.

Playing the tournament circuit always helps. Getting experience in matchplay.

Keep up your fitness and go to the gym.
