HI, I am going to start my freshman year of high school tomorrow, and I am very scared! I know everyone must be very nervous to start school, but I get physically ill. I think I get many anxiety attacks because I even get scared over the littlest things! I just wanted to know if you could give me some tips on how to feel better. I feel a little better knowing that I am prepared for my classes, but it is still not the reassurance I need to not feel nauseous! If any of you have any tips that would really help! Thank you very much!

  1. well i start in about 8 hours and should be asleep but i'm in the same boat

eat some fruit or crackers, that should settle your stomach, also drink water

if you want to relax you should listen to some really relaxing sounds or music. i'm listening to rainforest sounds, rain sounds and the sound of a stream on these videos and i've relaxed significantly

  2. For one thing, your command of English is excellent. Most unusual for youngsters of your age. So take comfort from the fact that as far as studying is concerned, you are already way ahead. On the other hand, there are some who will resent your talent out of jealousy or insecurity. So do nothing to draw attention to yourself.  Respond to others with as much good will as they show to you.  No more and no less.

You will have a lot of information thrown at you in a short space of time.  Remember it and write it down as soon as you are by yourself.

On your first day there is not a single kid that knows more than you do. Eventually you will become close friends with people you have yet to meet.  But for moment pay attention only to the school staff.

I hope to be around to answer your question about anxieties regarding the first day at college.

The very best of luck to you. You'll be fine.

  3. I'm starting a new school on wendesday and i feel the same way. The best tip i can give is ask yourself ," Whats the worst that could happen?". The answer probably isnt that bad is it? and odds are whatever it is your afraid of is not going to happen

  4. Its always scary at first, trust me! Once you are there for at least a couple days it will be so much easier! Plus you will grow to love high school! I'm going to be a sophomore this year, so I already know what it was like for me on the first day as a freshman. Oh yeah, on my first day as a freshman I was so scared, and I also get anxiety attacks so I know what its like!  Good Luck!!!! Oh! and just smile!

  5. aw! little freshmen! well I have no idea which school youre going to but the beating up on freshmen story isnt ENTIRELY true. only true for thsoe who ask for it ;)

but its a new chapter of your life, so go out with a smile and face it :D it might feel weird after middle school, youre going to make new friends and meet new teachers and learn new things.

I really dont want to go back to college this fall, but I think about what a blessing it is, to have the opportunity to learn. there are so many people out there who would give an eye and a limb to learn the way we can, and so it makes me appreciate it more.

you know how you hear that the high school years ar some of the best in your life? and that it goes by so quickly? theyre both true, so get ready for the some of the best years of your life :)

have fun tomorrow, keep your head up! :D

  6. Go with a friend (as in on the bus with, or get a ride from)

Set lots of goals for the year so you're distracted (you dont even have to accomplish any of these)

or my favorite from high school

completely forget it. destroy your brain tonight with games, friends, movies, fun, laughter, food, and anything you can think of. when you wake up early tomorow, you might get that "what the h**l?" feeling, but if you just remember the fun you had the night before, you wont care

  7. breathe! it always seems scarier when you're dreading it ahead of time. but it'll be okay!

here's my advice - get plenty of sleep. take a nice hot shower in the morning. wear something comfy. eat a good breakfast. breathe. smile. breathe again, and, dive in!

    good luck!

  8. Just remember. Most people older than you have survived it. You can, too. I did and I totally agree with the other person. Just breathe. Don't worry too much. You can't go into something with a bad attitude and expect to come out of it with a good one. Smile and be happy. Take it one day at a time.
