Genetically, the animals to which hippos are most closely related are whales.

Jellyfish sting you with many specialized cells called cnidocytes. These cells contain an aparatus not unlike a harpoon, which penetrates your skin and then releases toxins. So, a person who is stung by a jellyfish has actually been "harpooned" by thousands of these little cells.
