Does anyone have experience or info on getting into the mines in aus?

  1. alot of my family is in the mines the best way to go is to look for companies in the paper or phone books and go into them, most places dont need experiance as they like to train you there way and your not bringing bad habbits with you etc. They do like persistance i suggest CDU or Boart longyear they are good companies and hire often goodluck :D


  2. If you're interested in Qld rather than WA, try Thiess and Byrnecut but be prepared to work underground..

    There are other companies: McMahons, Cloughs, Woodside, Dampier Salt and BGC... Not all of them are in the mines, but hopefully it will give you some ideas... You also mention that you have experience in construction? So if you are interested in Scaffing and rigging, you could look into PCH Scaffolding, Kempes, and NWR contracting, which are located in the North West town of Karratha, and also contract for the above companies listed.... Hopefully this will give a step in the right direction...
