  1. Do you mean a stand-up scooter like a Razor, or like a moped?  I own an electric moped that I use to commute to work (13 miles), unless I bike.

  2. it should be fine --i have one i can ride about14 miles before i charge it- if it has a speedometer on it ride it around yor house and see how it does

  3. I put an electric wheel on my wife's 1950's single speed bicycle. One can travel with ease up hills only a mountain bike would cope with. All at a steady 20-25kmh (15-18mph) Range ~30km (20miles)

Being a bicycle, some pedaling helps achieve this range but only light effort required. Headwinds and hills are no problem.

The journey of 3 miles would take ~10 minutes.

Being electric you just hop on and go.(disconnect charger first)

  4. like a vespa?

because i had this one scooter (not sure of the name, sorry!) and it was only good for 5 blocks before it died.
