  1. I work with a fellow whose wife was his live donor. When the surgery happened there was a big piece in the paper because it was so unusual. That was about 15 years ago and they are both fine.

I also have an outside consultant who had a kidney transplant in another country about 22 years ago and he is fine also. All I can

tell you is that they don't do unless they expect a really good outcome otherwise it is a waste of an organ..Good luck to both of you!

  2. mom had her transplant 7 years ago and every thing went well.. after the transplant there was a time of pain and then after a couple of weeks she was back on her feet.. the hardest part was getting used to all the meds and there effects on her.. sure she had to stay away from any one that was sick but other than that you get your life back.. there will be lots of good and bad days, and don't think if your sick it will go away call your doctor right away.. if your not sure about something call your doctor... don't take chances.. having said all that mom winters in Mexico and travels all over the U.S. and has even taken 6 cruises sense so with caution you do get your life back good luck and God Bless
