I am supposed to be getting it inserted in a few weeks but I've heard a lot of negatives about it. People say there is a lot of pain during the insertion, they have nausea.. some say their bodies rejected it.. are there any positives to this?

  1. my body didnt adjust to it either. after 1 month the IUD had created cysts in me, and the y began to  burst inside of me and it was PAINFUL! and for that whole month i kept bleeding, and didnt slow down. i had it taken out after that month, my doctor said that its just that its not for everyone. and yes, theres nausea and cramps.

*My mom though has had it for YEARS and shes had no problems with it at all!!  weird

  2. I just got the Mirena IUD about one month ago and so far I really like it.  Yes, it was a painful process.  But not unbearable.  First, the doctor inserted a probe to measure my uterus to see how long the IUD "applicator"  had to be to insert it.  Actually, that was more painful than the actual inserting of the IUD.  Then, he inserted the IUD and pushed it up to the top of my uterus...and that's it.  It literally took five minutes at the most. And I did have some cramping and spotting for a couple of days after, so if that happens to you, don't be alarmed...and if you are concerned, just call your doctor.

And yeah, not everybody is going to have a positive experience with it...but just try it...I think that you will like it and the convenience of not having to take a birth control pill everyday.  Good luck

  3. my sister in law got it about 1 1/2yrs ago & loves it.  she did say that she did bleed lightly for about a month.  now she just gets very light periods every month for bout 2-3days.  i think that not having 2 worry bout getting pregnant for 5yrs, never having 2 think bout taking a pill or changing a patch or ring is a great positive 4 me!
