Question:

Does anyone have former preemie twins that are school age that are having trouble keeping up?

my boys seem to be half a year behind in school and have already been held back in kindergarten,i do homework-tutoring with them 4 nights a week and they have came a long way but may not pass to 4th grade they are smart and can learn,just slower. any suggestions?

  1. NO, but my moms friends had triplets, and they are in Kindergarten with my daughter, and it was a last minute decision to even put them in this school. They were going to have to go to a more 'concentrated' school (I can't think of the right word right now). But 2 of the three were really having a hard time, but after being split up and worked with, they are almost on track, and it's only been a year.

I don't have twins but my son was a preemie and he has always had a harder time learning than his sisters who werent.  He was ahead on the walking, talking etc and motor skills are great.  The pediatrician told us that a lot of preemies struggle with school and many will have an underlying learning disorder our sons was speech.  We got him a good tutor and spend more time with him in the evenings and he is doing a lot better.
