  1. Go with something edible.

When is the wedding? If its fall, you could caramel apples or caramel corn.

If its in the winter, white popcorn balls or sugar cookies.

Spring could be apple colored jelly bellies in organza bags or little boxes with a tag (I've also seen little mini-jars with lids that are adorable). That could also work for summer.

  2. Is there anything local to the area that you could use. Then it would be unique and meaningful. For example, we're getting married in the town where potato chips were invented (weird, I know), so we're including chocolate covered potato chips in the guest's welcome baskets, and they're only $2 a bag, wrapped nicely.

What's your wedding style/theme? That would help to narrow it down. Is your color apple green? These little bottles of olive oil are so cute, I think. They're a little more at $5 a pop, but they're really unique, and almost everyone can use olive oil if they cook or eat salads.

You can also get personalized M&Ms and wrap them in cute boxes or bags. A lot of people are doing that now, so it's not as unique, but it's still really nice, and specific to YOUR wedding.

I would suggest reviewing www.beau-coup.com. I think they have the best wedding favor options and ideas out of all the websites out there.

Best of luck, and happy planning!

  3. How about flower seed packages. They are very affordable and you can make custom labels that say something like "May your garden blossom with our love"

  4. I recommend giving out personalized candy wrappers.  There's a great site:  www.Party-Over-Here.com that sells them for only $0.65 each.  They can personalize it with anything you want, and it doesn't go to waste since each person gets a nice sweet treat, and they keep the wrapper to include in their photo album or scrap book.  Others have used it as a table seating numbers too.

  5. Honestly, I wouldn't make a big deal out of wedding favors.  Most guests lose them or throw them away after the wedding.

Ones I've seen that I've liked:

--My boyfriend's niece and his best friend got married.  They got the personalized m&m's and had little dishes of them sitting on all the tables.

--My sister and brother in law had Hershey hugs & kisses wrapped in tulle, tied with ribbon in the colors of the wedding with a note saying "Hugs & Kisses from the new Mr. & Mrs." and their wedding date.

Both are cute, relatively cheap items that will get used.

  6. I recommend using White Votive candles in small Organza bags.  I can do favors like this.  Please check out my website.

  7. plastic spoons with hershey hug & kisses wrapped in tool with a note ... hugs and kisses from the new mr & mrs.

  8. My fiance and I are in a band and both sing and play guitar in it.  I am ordering personalized guitar picks with our picture and wedding date on them.. they are 20 cents a piece for about a hundred and less per piece the more you buy.  a lot of things can be personalized like this and can be bought at a good price in bulk.  we are giving teas with the guitar picks to match our tea party theme.  I had thought funny candies like wax lips, valentines hearts, and licorice would be fun.  I really all depends on your theme and season of the wedding.  I'm making origami flowers for the ceremony and reception, but origami would be a unique favor.  coffees, homemade caramel apples would be adorable and would match your colors.

  9. I prefer edible favors to little nick-nacks you take home. For our wedding, we had Syrah infused chocolate truffles made for $1 each. We supplied the bottles of Syrah. I made the favor boxes to match my wedding colors (I couldn't find anything in the shade I want) and hand tied each box with a thin ivory ribbon and topped off with a single calla lily (one of my flowers). Each favor cost a total of $1.20 and guests LOVED them.

Instead of making chocolates, you can always buy them in bulk instead.

  10. Try any of these sites for favours:

    http://weddingfavors.weddingdesigner.com...

    http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse...

    http://www.save-on-crafts.com/

They all have VERY affordable wedding favour ideas, and because you need to so many the bulk prices are really good.  Some of the favours work out to well under $1 each when you need like 200 of them.

Plus, buying the favours instead of making them can save on the cost of wrapping/packaging them nicely, because many come ready to give.  Buying nice packaging can sometimes be half the cost of the favour.

    Good Luck!
