  1. If you know your gonna run the three mile a while in advance, you should really try to run about 5 miles a day at a decent pace. the last mile or so you should try to sprint it out. you should do it till about 2 days before the race however keep running about 3-4 miles. the day before  you should take a easy day. than during your three mile race. you will feel as if you could have kept going since you were used to your three, four and five mile days. also. eat to the healthier side. it seems like a small detail but it really helps with the cramps.

    hoped i helped!

    goodluckk=)

  2. Go to runnersworld.com they have awesome tips.

  3. heres one practice makes perfect.

  4. Practice by running 20 steps walking 20 steps and if you feel real good run a mile. Run alot and make sure you stretch! Start fast running then in the middle jogg and at the end run again. Also breathe in though your nose and out your mouth at a steady past.

  5. Splits are the base way to increase speed and will also help to prevent side stitches.

    Splits: run quarter mile hard, then quarter mile easy.  Hard is your perceived effort.  If you don't have track handy you can do hard for two minute, easy for two minutes.

    You can make it more complicated then that but this would be a good start.
