Does anyone have great insulin resistance diet tips for someone always on the go?

I am far away from my home from 8am to 10pm on most days. I need to find a great diet to lose a ton of weight. The problem is I don't have access to a refrigerator, stove, or even a microwave, so I have no way to cook anything.

What could I make to bring with me in a small cooler I could leave in my car?

Also, I want to lose weight pretty quickly...Exercise is a problem because I am constantly on the go and litterally don't have time. So drastically changing my diet is the way to go...

any tips?

Also I have polycystic ovary syndrome and my doctor believes I may be insulin resistant...

  1. 100% raw vegan diet.  It's been proven to work for a lot of folks, and you don't need to buy any instruction manual to do it.  Just food.  But it's gotta be 100% raw vegan (no processed or cooked foods, no pasteurized foods, nothing that comes from an animal) food make sure you get at least a good sublingual b12 supplement.

    I am trying really hard to get back raw again.  When I am raw, my blood sugar gets right within a week, and I feel sooooo much better.

    Also, there are women who have had PCOD and experienced great relief from it on raw vegan diet.  Here's one:

If you have PCOS and are possibly insulin resistant you might want to talk to your doctor about using Metformin.  That's a drug that used both in women with PCOS and also non-insulin dependent diabetics to help your body's cells become more receptive to your own insulin.  As far as your diet, you probably need to see a dietitian who can tell you what kinds and combinations of food to eat for the best and safest results.  Good luck!

  3. If you're insulin resistant then you're going to want to minimize starchy and sugary foods.  Here are some things you could pack in your cooler:

    hard-boiled eggs

    cold chicken, turkey, ham

    tuna salad or chicken salad (not on bread -- when you're ready to eat, you could spoon into onto celery stalks, or roll it up in a lettuce leaf, or just eat it on a spoon)

    salad

    cole slaw

    raw crunchy veggies: broccoli, celery, cucumbers, maybe a small amount of carrots

    pickles

    cheese

    nuts

    peanut butter

    For dessert you could include some sugar-free jello, or small amounts of certain low-GI fruits (berries are best)

    No regular bread, crackers, cookies, chips, etc.  

    If you're drying for a bread-like or cracker-like thing, you could try something like these in very limited amounts:

  4. Fresh fruits and vegetables possibly a salad  or a sandwich on low carb bread will keep in a cooler with some freezer packs. Best of Luck.

  5. Being overweight will often cause insulin resistance.  If you lose enough weight, you might also lose the diabetes!
