I moved here with my fiance, and while he has a great job, I have having trouble finding anything. Surely there is SOMETHING I can do here...

  1. Why work in a country that has a lower pay scale than the US?

  2. Yes, sign on with a major US company down there.  Such as an oil drilling company, auto manufactorer.  Most of those corp office would be state side.

  3. I suggest to visit the US consulate. The one in Guadalajara should have information on reputable companies (foreign and domestic) seeking US employees. The business attache can also give you some references on where to look and how to apply (what paper work you'll need). My other suggestion is to look for a job placement agency in the phonebook. Some headhunters seek quality personnel and have great leads. You'll find that payment for qualified employees can be as much or more than state side with the savings in cost of leaving leaving a lot more in your pocket.

  4. Are you stupid. If you get a job there you'll be poorer than the  people livin on the streets.
