Does anyone have ideas for low impact exercises for a home-based interval-type workout?

I have a bum knee, and can't do squats (even body weight) or high impact cardio. I have a few light dumbells, but that's about it.

  1. do a circuit type training.

do a lower body exercise like one leg toe raise or a stiff leg deadlift followed by an upper body exercise like a press or curl.

just don't rest between exercises and it will raise your heart rate.

also. do slow reps. lack of momentum will make the exercises harder which will also raise the heart rate.

example. set of 10 to 15 stiff leg deadlift, then a set of 10 to 15 curls, then a set of toe  raises, then a set of presses, then back to the stiff leg deadlift, etc. the blood goes from the lower body to the upper body.pick whatever exercise you want and can do.

  2. Good low-impact exercises are to work-out on an elliptical machine or an exercise bike, preferably reclining.  You can increase your intensity (as fast as you can) and then lower it.  This is the interval part.

If you can get out, you should try rowing, swimming and walking.

On the reference list below, make sure that your knee is placed carefully.
