Does anyone have kind of a estimate on how much a digital SLR camera would be at a pawn shop?

  1. I have found that in my area the pawn shops are nuts. They charge a little less than buying a new one and the camera will be well used. Unless you find a great deal, I would avoid pawn shops for that stuff.

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but don't buy a digital SLR at a pawn shop!  A single-lens-reflex camera is much more complex than a normal camera with a viewfinder, and you're extremely unlikely to get a working one if you go to a pawnshop.  In short, you can't trust them!  Try ebay, or another place where you could get something guaranteed.  That said, a used digital SLR can run anywhere from $400 to $1500, depending on the quality and features.
