I was just wondering what books you study from because I am sure there are no horse related textbooks

  1. Of course there are! There are lots of text books on equine medicine. Try an online college bookstore life efollet.com or collegebooks.com and search for "equine". I am not sure exactly what you are looking for but there is a plethora of information in simple layman books as well that cover everything from birth to death and all the phases in between.

  2. There are many books. I have an AS in Equine Studies and I have books from horse behavior to Tom Dorrance "True Horsemanship Through Feel" along with all the medical type books

  3. I got a bachelor's of science in Animal Science and Chemistry.  In my AnSci program, they had courses specifically for horses, and we had textbooks.  Some of the courses were for horse breeding, so we had breeding and reproduction books.  Some where for horse nutrition, and we had horse nutrition books.  Why would you think there are no horse-related text books?  Of course there are!

  4. I have a bachelors degree in Equine Science from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls.  We used some regular books and some text books.  For the repro, physiology, and nutrition classes we used regular text books.  For my riding classes we used some of the books written by Sally Swift which are not text books - but could just as well be.  We still had to take oodles of chemistry (2 inorganic classes, 2 organic classes, Biochemistry) and biology (microbiology and zoology) - which of course were regular text books.  Best wishes!
