Question:

Does anyone have some insight about sequential dreams?

Earlier this year I had a dream about two seemingly emotionless men searching for my best friend and I in order to extract our souls from our bodies, with small metallic devices that they held in their hands, which released some sort of acidic liquid. In the dream these men did not appear to be neither good nor evil individuals, but simply as if this was their sole purpose.

Well, two weeks ago I had another dream that was a continuation of that one (within the second dream, I told my best friend: "they're back!", referring to the men.) And last night, another dream, which seemed to continue from the last one... and yet again, in the dream I recognised the men, as if it had continued where we left off...escaping them.

I don't understand how dreams can be sequential over a period of time, such as months and weeks. I find it odd.

Does anyone have any ideas about this or about the dreams themselves?

  1. There are many kinds of dreams, but when sequential dreams occur, it is an effort by our subconscious minds to figure something out that we can't figure out in our waking life.

You've probably heard the phrase "sleep on it." That's because very often when we have problems we can't figure out during our waking life, our asleep brain helps us make sense of it and when we wake up, we find that it all makes sense, even when we don't remember dreaming.

I think you dreams mean that you feel you are losing something in your life, gradually, thus the sequential dream of someone trying to extract something from your soul. Has something been happening in your life or a relationship (possibly with your friend) that leaves you feeling a little more empty as time goes on? Whatever is making you feel drained emotionally is represented by the men and since they are emotionless, you feel that the other person or event doesn't feel the emptiness that you do.
