  1. let me tell you what i do , i have swim meets almost every 1 to 2 days , and i have gymanstic meets every 1 to 2 days , and this is what i do to calm the nerves , first i breath in deeply and exhale out steadily , i put in my head-phones and put on my favorite and relaxing song on my i-pod  , after that i talk to friends and cheer them on during the meets when there swimming  remeber , your doing this for fun and your doing this for somthing you love , remeber your the best and you can do it , relax and when the buzzer strikes you dive in that water and swim , don't look to the sides , just swim , ! i usually think about the music, i can hear it in my mind telling me to push forth go on ! and it works ! you can do it good luck !

  3. I used to swim in high school and now I participate in triathlons.  For a 200 Free I'd pass the time by counting my strokes for each 25yrds/meters.  The cool thing is that by the end of the season you'll see that the number will start going down.  Which means your stroke is becoming more efficiant.  Good Luck!
