I'm interested in purchasing a Nu Wave convection oven or a Flavor Wave convection oven. Is there anyone that has one of these appliances and what do you think about them. Do they do what the ads on TV say and are they worth the asking price. Thanks

  1. We purchased ours about a year ago.  We haven't figured it out yet.  Can't get the settings right.  All our meat turns out tough and dry on the out side.  It's just been sitting in our closet since we have ruined about 100.00 worth of meat.

  2. I have the Nu Wave oven and enjoy using it.  It does just about everything they say on the infomercial except don't expect to get a turkey or chicken as brown as the one they show.  They obviously touched that up with something.  I have cooked a lot of different foods in it, from frozen to fresh.  The frozen chicken really does cook as they say it will.  There's a few little things that they don't tell you on TV though, like put the chicken or turkey breast side down first, then flip the thing over halfway through the cooking time.  And if you cook wings or other chicken parts, if your rack is full, you have to rotate the pieces on the outside of the rack with the ones in the middle for better browning.  The chicken comes out moist and juicy.  The racks really aren't that large so they don't hold a lot of food.  I've managed about 8-10 whole wings, 3-4 ribeyes (depends on size), and 1/2 of a salmon fillet (cut into serving size portions).  You can use two racks at the same time, one is taller than the other, but I haven't ever done it.  It does a great job with veggies like potatoes and asparagus which are the only ones I have cooked in it.  Hot dogs, sausages, burgers, frozen snack items cook pretty good in the oven.  Ribs come out pretty good too.  I haven't used it for baking anything like desserts or bread.

I think it's a worthwhile purchase and would buy it again.  The portability of this oven is fantastic.  We pack ours in the car when traveling so we don't have to eat out all the time.

Go on amazon.com and look at some of the reviews.   I looked at the Flavor Wave too but there seems to be issues with that halogen bulb so I decided to get the Nu Wave.
