just move your pieces out of the evidence room when you want or what??

Yes; I have the Dvd Clue game. You can move into new rooms as long as there is a pathway connecting two rooms. If there is a secret passage you can use them too.  You can only move on your turn,I think. It isn't explained in the rules.
